How to calculate a Life Path number
Add every digit of the birth date, then reduce until you reach 1–9, unless the total is 11, 22, or 33. Those three are kept as master numbers in this method.
Example. For 15 May 1990: 1 + 5 + 0 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 30, and 3 + 0 = 3. The Life Path of that date is 3. The birth name is not part of this sum.
Life Path, Expression, and Personal Year
Life Path comes from the birth date and stays the same. Expression comes from the letters of the full name. Personal Year changes with the calendar year you analyze. Comparing them only makes sense after you know which calculation you are looking at. Calculate Expression or calculate a Personal Year.

Does the Life Path use my name?
No. The name produces Expression, Soul, and Personality. Life Path uses only the birth date. That is why the two calculations can disagree.
What are master numbers?
When the reduction lands on 11, 22, or 33, this calculator keeps that number instead of reducing it to 2, 4, or 6. Other schools always reduce to a single digit.
